Sonko who was speaking to KTN TV, he admitted that after a scuffle with a Mombasa business man who attacked him with a panga, sonko said he could have shot him if he had a gun.
Speaking during an interview on KTN, Mr. Sonko claimed that Joseph Lenguris, the landlord of a disputed 3.5 acre, hired goons who ambushed him with a panga on Friday, January 12, 2018, at 2 am.
"Ningekuwa na bunduki ningemshoot kwa sababu walinikata na panga. Hiyo ingekuwa self defence,” he claimed loosely translated to mean that if I had a gun I could have shot him..
The land in question is in dispute between Governor sonko cousin according to media reports and the man by the name Joseph lenguru.
According to the business man sonko cousin had not finished paying for the land to facilitate transfer and full ownership.
