Waiguru who was delivering a speech to the students, encouraged them to enter the job market without money in mind.
“ Everyone has to start from somewhere. Youths should pursue opportunities and even do volunteer work in society,” she said, adding that she started as a volunteer in church before getting her first job.
“I was being paid Sh6, 000 which doubled to Sh12, 000 gradually. It was little money then because I had friends who were being paid a lot more,” she said, citing hard work and determination as the secrets of her success.
“ I have never had anyone make a call for me to get a job. Not even for CS,” she was quoted by the standard kenya.

Former devolution cabinet secretary Anne Waiguru might contest for an elective position in the 2017 general election.
Waiguru, while responding to hundreds of Nairobi women’s request to join the county gubernatorial race, said she needed time to think about the issue.

The former minister was speaking during a meeting with about 200 women leaders from Nairobi county’s 17 constituencies on Wednesday, January 2017. She thanked them for standing with her during the times she was under pressure to resign from the cabinet due to scandals in the National Youth Service.
The women said that it was time for them to unite and decide on the political destiny of the country as had for many years misused them.
According to the newspaper, Anne Waiguru said she was ready to work with Evans Ondieki who had just been kidero. Ondieki, a former county environment minister, also attended the meeting.

If Waiguru joins the race, she would be the third former minister in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cabinet to do so.
