Former Marsabit Governor Ukur Yatani withdrew his petition challenging the victory of current county boss Mohamud Mohamed Ali in the 2017 General Election
Notice is hereby given that the above petitioner did on the 16th day of January 2018 lodge at the office of the registrar an application for leave to withdraw the election petition, which application can be obtained from the offices of the Advocates herein stated," the document read in part.
The document which was drawn and filed by his advocates, Okong'o Omogeni and Co Advocates further stated that anybody interested to be substituted as the petitioner to write to the registrar.
"Take further notice that any person who might have been a petitioner in respect of the said election, may on or before the 23rd of January, 2018 (when the matter is scheduled for hearing) give notice in writing to the Registrar of the intention on the hearing of the application to be substituted as a petitioner," the document further stated.
The former Governor had filed a petition against Governor Mohamud, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and Marsabit County Returning Officer Arnold Mutwiri Njabani.
