Miguna miguna approval by Nairobi county assembly can take up to 4 months according to the speaker of Nairobi county assembly .

Speaker Beatrice Elachi stated in a radio interview that they would seek clarification from the Government on Miguna's citizenship status.
"I would tell Miguna to first clear his issues with the Kenyan gov’t. He is Canadian. That procedure can take us 3-4 months.
"The Governor has given us a nominee. We will follow the law. The constitution is clear that a Deputy Governor needs to be a Kenyan citizen," she stated.
Elachi further noted that the process 'could take months'.
Miguna miguna could also be issued with a diplomatic passport if he decides to to kenya without clearing with immigration first.
Governors and deputy governors are powerful government officials and are always issued with diplomatic passports.
