The Donald Trump-led US Government has insisted that there should be dialogue between President Uhuru Kenyatta and the People’s President, Raila Odinga.
This was amplified by US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, who said he will discuss the same with President Kenyatta when they meet next week.
“What is happening in Kenya is; the Secretary of State is going to look at talking to President Kenyatta and the Government and noting exactly how we are going work to exactly bring dialogue and discussions and political and economic reforms because that is what Raila Odinga’s Opposition and the Government is looking at,” said Donald Yamamoto.
However, he was non-committal on whether the US Secretary of State would meet with Opposition leader, Raila Odinga, during his visit to Kenya.
The Secretary of State is expected in the country next week amid political tension in the country after a failed attempt by the UN to intervene using Olesegun Obasanjo.
The Opposition led by Raila Odinga has insisted that they won the August 8th elections and the Jubilee team rigged.
