Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i has directed police officers to report to County Commissioners as part of the Government's new strategy to enhance service delivery.
He expressed confidence that the 'One Government ' approach, which puts county commissioners in charge of coordination of all national government activities at the county level, would play a big role in curbing crime.
“Remind the officers of the new Government’s way of operation where county commissioners are the co-ordinators of all national government activities in the counties.
"There is no need for a police officer to start saying I have to consult my boss on this and that,” Matiang'i stated.
He explained that Police Commanders would ensure their juniors work closely with the county commissioners.
