Ruto was the main brains who saved Kenya from burning during Raila Odinga swearing in ceremony.
President Uhuru Kenyatta was out of the country for official duties at addis Ababa leaving Ruto in charge during the eve of swearing in ceremony.
The police had sealed off Uhuru park and thousands of NASA supporters some harmed had started trooping to the event.
To the surprise of his handlers, DP Ruto, in a rare show of wisdom softened his stand and ordered security forces to withdraw, giving NASA a chance to proceed with its ‘swearing in’ of Raila.
A source privy to the details revealed to The Standard that “after a wee hours meeting with the security bosses that lasted up to after nine in the morning, the DP ordered for the withdrawal of the security officers.”
This action and wisdom by deputy president Ruto saved the country from bloodshed which could have resulted from Confrontation between Raila Odinga and the police.
