Six Makueni MCAs have been arrested for blocking a new principal's access to her office.
Rose Kiragu was one of 557 principals transferred by the Teachers Service Commission last December.
The six MCAs blocked her from getting into her office at St Joseph's Girls' High School on Thursday.
The ward representatives were led by
Thange's Nicholas Maitha who chairs the assembly's education committee.
They claimed the new principal faced indiscipline cases at her previous school.
An exchange ensued between the MCAs and education officers at the school's gate before police overpowered and apprehended them.
Kiragu was escorted to her new office by heavily armed officers, drawing the attention of students who walked out of their classes to protest the harassment.
They briefly chanted the name Lucia, of their former principal who was transferred to Nguviu Boys', before they were reprimanded by their teachers.
The MCAs were taken to Mtito Andei police station.
