President Uhuru Kenyatta lawyer advice to supreme Court

President Uhuru Kenyatta told the Supreme Court on Thursday that the nominations dispute cannot be a basis for cancelling his October 26 win.
His legal team, led by Fred Ngatia, argued that the fresh presidential election did not need nominations.
The lawyer noted the process is only necessary during a general election and in the event the office of president becomes vacant.
The petitioners had noted that since there were no fresh nomination the election was not valid and said that will be ground to nullify election.

Ngatia also noted that the fact that Raila Odinga did not withdraw from the race means that he was still officially a candidate.
The fact that he did not sign firm 24A means he was still in the race but just abandoned it.
Here is submission from the lawyer.
"They should not enjoy the abandonment. I urge this court to hold and find that the cases before it are not merited."
: "NASA leader Raila Odinga did not withdraw from the race...he just abandoned it as he did not officially sign forms 24A"

If Uhuru Kenyatta win is upheld he will be sworn in in October 27.
