There will be election in October 26 whether Raila participates or not IEBC confirms

IEBC has issued new directive following the withdrawal of NASA leader Raila Odinga from fresh polls scheduled for October 26.in a long letter issued today IEBC said that it will oversee elections which will be held on October 26 and all the 8 candidates who participated on August 8 poll will be on the list following directive from the High court today after ekuru Aukot challenged the decision to have two candidates only.

In a detailed letter the commission noted that they will be ready for new election on October 26 to avoid constitutional crisis and all candidates should prepare themselves for fresh elections.
Raila Odinga withdrew yesterday after his demands were not met.Raila Odinga demands were too much for IEBC to handle,and not humanly possible to meet.


The commission also noted that raila Odinga and all other candidates were still in the race.Although Raila Odinga withdrew yesterday,He did not sign form 24A which means he will not participate in the election.
He only wrote a letter Which is not according to the law.


Iebc have told Raila to follow the right procedure in withdrawing from the race.
