Probably you have never heard of 25 years old MERCY CHEBENI. I too didn't know her until last night when her name came up as ODM's NOMINATED SENATOR.
Well, even ODM officials (leave alone diehard party loyalists) don't know about her. She pulled down her facebook account last evening making it harder to have an idea of who she is. That makes you understand why fake photos are circulating of what members imagine could be her.
The real Chebeni is the one in the photo attached.
Chepkubei Village in Mt. Elgon is celebrating this miraculous nomination. They never saw it coming.
Just like any ambitious youth, Mercy applied to be considered as a youth representative in the Senate through ODM. It was just a 'by the way'. She left it at that since she didn't see herself as a favorite. Nobody knew her and neither did she know anyone.
So hot is her matter that even the shocked ODM leaders are contemplating going to court on monday to try blocking her nomination. But on what grounds? OGLA KARANI who had posted comments indicating her 'innocence' in the manner in which Mercy was nominated has had to delete some.
Mercy graduated with Bachelor of Arts - Economics & Sociology at Egerton University, has done CPA level 2 and is currently doing Masters in Development Studies ( Thesis Level) at St. Paul's University.
Currently she is working with a Tours & Travel Company and lists herself as a Community mobilizer which may be handy for her new role.
She is VERY SINGLE and stays with her parents
