Baringo senator Gideon Moi has said that whenever Deputy President William Ruto visits Baringo county his main intent is to finish his political ambitions.
He said that Ruto is threatened by his presence in the political map and mostly over the 2022 presidential race which he hinted that he will be contesting for the country's top seat.
Moi who was speaking yesterday at Kabimoi in Eldama Ravine when he launched his senatorial bid where he will be facing off with former betting boss Simon Chelugui who is Ruto's favorite, stated that the DP would not be visiting the county if not for his firm and strong political stand.
"When he comes here more than 30 times you might think that he loves you but his sole aim is to see that I fall down" he said adding that Ruto does not even care if Uhuru wins or not but he only targets to see him disappear from the political arena for a smooth presidential contest in 2022.
He further said that all the political attacks directed at him are meant to discourage him from pursuing his presidential dream.
"This all started in Eldoret when I started fighting for maize farmers to get good profits from their farm produce. That was when he started feeling threatened" he said.
However, he stated that he will support Ruto if the people decide that he is the one suitable to lead them.
"He will come here trying to persuade you to turn your backs against me. He will tell you all kinds of words and development promises for him to be seen as if he cares about you more than I do" he said adding that those who say that he is a bandit sympathizer are liars and they are agents of propaganda.
Moi added that the people of Baringo should learn to stand on their own and see what is right for them. However he said that he will not run away from positive criticism since he is also a human.
At the same time, he lashed out at those who say that he has done nothing saying that those people cannot substantiate their claims since he has always been in the forefront making sure that the county gets its rightful allocation from the national budget.
"Have you ever heard our county being locked out of the annual budget ? This is because I have always been there to fight for that" he affirmed.
"Our county is blessed with lots of natural resources and that's the reason why I pushed for the Local content bill which will ensure that 30% of all the minerals found in the county amounting to a total of 15 billion will be used to develop our county" said Moi.
