A Kenyan scholar based at the United States has said the National Super Alliance (NASA) will lose by a landslide if they nominate ODM party leader, Raila Odinga, as the coalition’s Presidential flag bearer.
Mark Wanyama, who is a political scientist based in the US, said that Raila will fail again if he challenges President Uhuru Kenyatta in August.
"Raila Odinga should not be on top of NASA ticket if he wants to stay as a force to reckon with in terms of reforms,” said Wanyama.
He said Raila can only work best as a watchdog to ensure devolution is strengthened and also guiding the NASA troupes.
"We like his force for change and vision for strengthening devolution and also guiding the NASA troops,” Wanyama said.
He said Raila Odinga is loved and hated in equal measure and that automatically disqualifies him from vying for the Presidency.
“Those who like him are equal to those who fear him and that does not augur well in a General Election," said the analyst.
