In his autobiography, Against All Odds, Wiper Party leader Hon Kalonzo Musyoka bitterly complained about how he was elbowed out of the presidential ticket and thrown under a speeding bus by UhuRuto duo.
And history seems to be rudely repeating itself because TEAM Raila Odinga is killing Kalonzo's presidential dream through a brutal strangle.
First an assasin in the name of Musalia Mudavadi was shrewdly hired to kill CORD via the formation of NASA. The reincarnation of CORD through NASA blew away the pre-election MoU of 2013 thus giving the former prime minister a breath of fresh air under the new terms of engagement with his co-principals in NASA.
Now the time is running out yet the opposition outfit is still unable to identify a suitable nominee to face the seemingly unbeatable Uhuru Kenyatta. All parties within the loose NASA coalition have lost focus of their target and are currently engaged in cannibalism implying that a split is imminent in NASA.
Kalonzo's best option is to launch a solo presidential run and forms a coalition with either Raila Odinga or Uhuru Kenyatta in the second round of voting assuming that the president fails to deliver a first round win. Kalonzo & his Wiper team will obviously get a better deal than the one he is being offered in NASA. If Kalonzo decides to go it alone then he is guaranteed of the third spot and can play the important role of a kingmaker in the event of a runoff.
Politics is about being smart and by always thinking outside the box.
