During madaraka day celebration Uhuru Kenyatta suggested use of a polygraph to catch all corruption officials.
Most kenyans don't know how a polygraph Works.
According to Wikipedia,A polygraph, popularly referred to as a lie detector, measures and records several physiological indices such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and skin conductivity while a person is asked and answers a series of questions.
Speaking duringthe55th Madaraka Daycelebrations at Kinoru stadium in Meru, PresidentKenyatta ordered thatthe government officials undertake the testswithin the next 30 days; and thatthose who will fail thevettingwill face thesack.
“All heads of procurement and accounts in government ministries, departments, agencies and parastatals will undergo fresh vettingincluding polygraph testingto determine their integrity and suitability,” said the Head of State.
In layman language the polygraph detects stress levels when asked questions of concern .
If the person likes the polygraph will detect the stress levels and panic level and will indicate that the person is not lying .
If the no stress is detected and the person answers rightfully and calmly then it will detect that the person is not lying .
Polygraph are not 100% effective.
