Matiangi one of the most performing cabinet secretaries ever has started crack down on illegal foreigners in the country.
Foreigners have been asked to submit their work permits for verification, after which they will be issued with electronic cards.
Those found to be in the country illegally or with fraudulent documents will be deported, according to the CS.
Matiangi order is to safe millions of Kenyans who have no work because of the large number of immigrants doing jobs which other Kenyans can do.
“The launch is part of a process to clean up the register. The number of bona fide foreigners with working permits is far much less compared to the number of those working in the country.
“Why should we have a foreigner operating a kiosk or barbershop in Kitengela? How many Kenyans are qualified to do those jobs?” Asked Interior spokesperson Mwenda Njoka .
Matiangi had said in January that there is no need to give foreigners Jobs that can be done by kenya while millions of Kenyans are jobless yet most if them have masters degrees or undergraduate degrees.
“Give me one reason why we need to give a permit to someone coming to be an accountant in Kenya.
"Why give a permit to a programme officer with the number of graduates who have masters degrees," matiangi had questioned.
