Mutahi Kahiga has nominated Caroline
Karugu as Nyeri Deputy Governor.
The seat fell vacant after the death of Governor Wahome Gakuru on November 7, 2017.
Kahiga, who later took over, has forwarded Karugu's name to the Assembly for vetting and approval, should she succeed.
Deputy Speaker Samuel Kariuki read the message on her nomination at the start of sittings on Thursday.
Karugu is the chair of the Board Technical Committee of the Geothermal Development Company, following her appointment as a member, by President Uhuru Kenyatta, in 2015.
She has over 12 years’ experience in regional capital markets and financial services and has worked in organisations including Britam.
The nominee is an alumnus of the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management (Germany) and the University of Leicester (UK).
She is currently the Managing Director of Jabali Microserve Limited.
Sonko is expected to unveil his second in command few weeks from now after unveiling names for consideration early last month.
