Igathe resigned this today as Nairobi governor which will take effect from 31st of this Month.
Igathe shared the news on his twitter page with this message.
"Dear Nairobians, it is with a heavy heart that I resign my seat as elected Deputy Governor of Nairobi City County effective 1pm on 31st Jan 2018. I regret I have failed to earn the trust of the Governor to enable me to drive Admin & Management of the county. "
The star had reported about a month ago that sonko and igathe were engaged in a bitter supremacy war with sonko being reduced into a puppet governor while igathe run everything in city hall.
Igathe a former CEO is understood to have never been used to taking orders from anyone and was so much engaged in ensuring that his plans for the city were implemented forgeting that mike sonko is his boss.
Igathe resigned today citing that his boss did not trust him to run affairs in the capital city.
The star had reported that igathe wanted all the technical work be left to him with sonko being involved with political activities in the county, something which did not go well with sonko loves serving people and was keen in ensuring his vision for the city was implemented.
