David ndio was arrested Sunday evening and it quickly picked national headlines across the country.
Ndii who is one of the leading NASA strategist was arrested as he attended a function in Mombasa and was quickly flown to Nairobi CID headquarters for questioning.
It caused public outrage especially from the opposition who demanded his immediate release.
Ndii was later released on Monday on a bond of 10,000 as investigations continue.

According to inside information we know now, the police had been monitoring his movement, it is said that he was to meet Mombasa republicans council supporters to discuss and share succession ideas with them, which is a serious crime.
Although police did not catch him in the act it is understood that he was in contact with the outlawed group.
