Why Uhuru Kenyatta ordered matiangi to set new KCPE exam

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday, November 21, ordered Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i to prepare supplementary exams for students who missed the 2017 KCPE exams.

Uhuru's order came after Matiang'i released the 2017 KCPE results three weeks after candidates sat for the exams.

The president ordered that students who may have missed the exams through illness, death of parents and/or close relatives or given birth be given the special supplementary exams.

Here is what government spokesman said
Students who lose their parents, those who are sick and those who give birth during exam period should sit for a special supplementary exam," Uhuru explained through government spokesman.

Matiangi today announced the results with highest candidate scoring 455 marks.
Almost 10000 candidates scored over 400 marks and will be admitted to national schools across the country
