The CS said Wetang'ula should swallow his pride and join the Jubilee government, which has extensively invested in Bungoma and Trans Nzioa counties.
On his 2017 bid, Wamalwa said he will declare which seat to run for within the constitutional time frame set for public servants.
"Let people hold their horses. I will soon declare exactly what seat I will vie for," he said.
Reports indicate the CS and Senator met to discuss the possibility of joining hands in a single party.
The plan was reportedly for one to run for Bungoma governor and the other to run in Trans Nzoia.
It was said Wamalwa would join Wetang'ula's Ford Kenya or the Senator would give up his party for the ruling Jubilee coalition.
