The CORD procession from Malindi airport towards the town was apparently going well until the leaders arrived at Msabaha area. According to The Star, more than 100 youths held demonstrations in the area protesting against the Cord principals.
“The youths who jammed Raila’s venue sang songs praising JAP and the Jubilee administration for their development record,” the paper reported.CORD co-principals Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula were in Kilifi county to escort Mtengo to presenting his papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission on Monday, February 8.
Mtengo is running against Jubilee candidate Phillip Charo and other four aspirants in the by-election to be held on March 7.
The seat was left vacant following the appoint of dan kasungu. The opposition has vowed to reclaim the seat as Kazungu was a member of ODM.
