Gideon Moi has been the talk of town in recent few weeks after it emerged that he is going to challenge deputy president William Ruto for presidency come 2022.
Gideon moi has emerged as the only serious challenger for Ruto after it has emerged Raila odinga will never Run for president.
Here are the main reasons .
1. The moi family issue.
Most Kenyans don't believe in rotations of presidency, the fact that Gideon moi is former president sons clearly will not go down with most Kenyans.Kenya is not an monarchy state and Kenyans will clearly vote out Gideon moi.
2.He is not popular in rift valley
Gideon moi is not popular in east Africa,/He is only a little bit popular in kalenjin subtribe of Tugen which does not have enough numbers.
He even nearly lost his Senate seat where he won with 47% with his main Challenger getting over 40% also.
3. Ruto factor
Ruto is the professor of politics in the country. He is very clever and Gideon moi cannot march him politically. it will take a miracle to defeat Ruto in 2022.
4. Political star.
Gideon Moi political star is not great as compared to other seasoned politicians.
Gideon Moi will find it very hard to convince other political players like mudavadi,kalonzo or even Alfred mutual to deputize them. All of them have a greater political star and influence than Gideon.
5. Development
Apart from being a son of former president, Gideon moi is not known for any development activity in the country.
In fact he is known for nothing except for Being Presidents son.
On the other hand Ruto is doing great in terms of development.
