Following his decision to work with President
Uhuru Kenyatta , National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga has announced that he will revive projects initiated by the Grand Coalition Government that stalled after the end of his stint as Prime Minister.
Speaking at Willy Kaino Kilimo 's (Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Treasurer Olga Karani's father) burial in Elgeyo-Marakwet on Saturday, Odinga stated that he would start with the Iten-Kapsowar Road.
“I initiated the construction of the Iten- Kapsowar road. I am going to ensure these projects are completed, now that I have pledged to work with the government,” he declared.
He further explained that his decision to meet President Kenyatta was necessary for the country to move forward.
“This country is facing many challenges and that is why we found it necessary to meet, sit down and see where we have come from, see how we had found ourselves here and where we are headed. We had to swallow our pride and meet for the sake of this country,” the opposition chief conveyed.
Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, who also spoke at the event, described Raila as a selfless leader who would put the country's interests before his own.
