Chebukati breaks long silence issues new statement

IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati on Thursday stated that the electoral body is ready to conduct fresh elections in areas where elective positions were nullified.
Speaking at Mombasa Law Courts after voting in the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) elections, Mr Chebukati divulged that they had anticipated by-elections.
“The commission is ready for by-elections since it is something we anticipated and budgeted for,” he remarked.
Chebukati made it clear that the commission is ready and will be up to the task to hold the new election.

Chebukati broke his long silence, this is the second statement chebukati issued since the September 26 election which main opposition leader boycotted.

He will always be remembered for managing two highly contested elections without fear and favoritism despite all the pressure he received.
