HERE IS MY PREDICTION:
Many people have been writing to me asking what will happen if Raila doesn't participate in the coming election. Here is what will happen: Jubilee will continue with the election as scheduled without Raila and Uhuru will be sworn in as the president. Raila will continue to demonstrate. Some will engage in unlawful acts and will be met by the security agents with force. Some will die in the event of engaging in violent behavior.
Few weeks down the line,
Kenyans in the NASA strong hold will be hit by hard and harsh economic life. The price of one kilo of sugar will cost Ksh 800 to 1000; food prices will sky rocket and people will starve to death. There will be no serious demos in the Kenya Coast, Ukambani, Kisii and Western Kenya; it will only last for 2 days at most. People will begin to worry about their own individual lives than politics; they will take care about their starving children, and school fees etc. They will not waste their time going to streets to help Raila. How about the people of Central Nyanza? They will demonstrate for a long time; hard economic life will hit them harshly but they stay on course until Raila says enough. Kalonzo, Weta and Mudavadi will hibernate; those who will be seen during press conferences all the time will be Orengo, Millie, Babu Owino, and other ODM surrogates.
Here is my appeal! Don't die for a politician; you are a fool if you do so. Moi was a president for 24 years but personally I didn't get any direct benefit from his presidency; Kibaki was a president for 10 years and I don't think those Kikuyus selling Mitumba benefited because Kibaki was a Kikuyu. Don't die or starve just because you want Raila to become a president. Before you even think of doing that, ask yourself, what did you benefit while he was a Prime Minister or MP as a person? Think before you leave your poor 2 year old kid at home with jobless mama and go fight for Raila unsure wether you will come back and sleep on your own bed or in a mortuary fridge. Use your brain!
