Former taita taveta governor mrutto has pledged his support for president Uhuru Kenyatta in the upcoming poll.
Mrutto who was elected on odm ticket in 2013 left the party in the run up to the 2017 election and run as an Independent but lost to current governor samboja.

He had defected from ODM to run as an independent candidate, said he had met President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, who requested him to work with them and he obliged.
“I recently met the President and his Deputy in Nairobi and they requested me to support the Government ahead of the repeat polls.”
“I told them I have to consult my supporters and from the look of things, you have given me a go ahead,” Mruttu said.
Mruttu has planned to lead a delegation of more than 2,000 supporters to meet Uhuru in State House to pledge their support
Uhuruto received biggest boast as most leaders from opposition have defected to rulling coalition.
