Former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga’s Presidential bid has suffered a severe blow after more than 500 officials of the National Super Alliance (NASA) from Nyanza defected to President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee.
The over 500 officials drawn from ODM, delegates, youth, opinion leaders and former Councillors from Bwirege Clan, abandoned Raila Odinga over the weekend and vowed to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.meeting in Ntimaru Town NCPD Grounds before heading to the newly opened Jubilee offices to announce their defection.
They accused Raila Odinga of sidelining them for the many years he has in politics saying only Uhuru/ Ruto have shown concerns for them.
“For the last two decades, we have voted for the Opposition as Bwirege Clan and for this period we have lived without development from the Government.”
“We are now shifting,” said Ntimaru East MCA candidate, Augustine Mwera.
