Former Devolution CS Anne Waiguru has said she is optimistic that she will clinch the Kirinyaga governor seat come August 8.
The Jubilee ticket nominee said she will beat her competitors' hands down.
She will face NARC Kenya leader Martha Karua and the incumbent Joseph Ndathi who is running on an independent ticket.
Speaking after she was handed the JP nomination certificate at Sifa garden in Kutustown, Waiguru said she is ready to transform lives.
"Kirinyaga is a Jubilee Zone and those competing with us in those other small parties will be defeated," Waiguru said.
"I ask my competitors to support President Uhuru Kenyatta but wait for 2022 to contest for the governor position."
Waiguru said she will unite all the JP nominees and ensure Jubilee party clinches all the elective seats in Kirinyaga.
JP regional coordinator Hudson Aluvanze asked the nominees to stay united so as to strengthen the Party.
